Below is a slide show outlining the life of Robert H. Jackson. This presentation was put together by the Robert H. Jackson Center in Jamestown, New York and is the perfect way to introduce Jackson because it walks students through his early life, first job, move to Washington, DC, relationship with the President, involvement with the Nuremburg Trials, eventual return to the Supreme Court and untimely passing. Utilizing primary source documents that are housed at the Robert H. Jackson Center, the slide show is an important tool to help students understand who Robert H. Jackson was and his significant contributions to the development of a justice system to prosecute international war criminals. Strong Common Core connections, found in Step Five, have been made for educator use. The slide show includes an integrated, chronological worksheet that teachers can print and use as student handouts. This format is also used in Step Four, when the students are presented with a similar worksheet to map their lives. The slide show is an enriching way to draw connections and ultimately tie all activities together in the final product, found in Step Five.
